World's Most Charismatic Stunt Couple to Appear on CNBC's "The
Big Idea with Donny Deutsch".
4-16-07
Have you ever wondered what stunt men (and women) do after they've jumped
out of the last burning building, or walked away from the final car crash?
Find
out on April
18 at 10pm est. on CNBC, when stuntman Brian
Smyj (pronounced
Smy). sends
stunt wife
Stephanie Stokes
blasting thru the air on CNBC's "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch".
It's the perfect setting for this cutting-edge duo, where Deutsch
asks the fearless questions to the most powerful people in business, politics
and entertainment. The Big
Idea's recent guests include Donald Trump, Bill Gates and Bon Jovi. Now
it's the SmyjsÕ turn.
Brian
and Stephanie will discuss their next big stunt
with Donny, producing a television series about their lives called, StuntWorksTV, a reality based show about a married
couple who crash and burn for a living.
For
over 20 years, Brian Smyj has appeared in major motion blockbusters, from Gladiator, where he saved Russell Crowe from
being run over by a chariot, to True Lies, where Schwarzenegger punches Brian out. In upcoming films, The Ex, with Zack Braff, Brian coordinates
some hilarious physical comedy and in Bourne Ultimatum he gets run over by a
truck and tries to kill Matt Damon. A recent cameo with Leonardo DiCaprio in the Oscar winning
film, The
Departed,
leaves Brian on the bar room floor over a glass of cranberry juice.
Next
month, Smyj will again take helm as Stunt Coordinator in the upcoming
film Synecdoche, New
York
with Oscar winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman and look for Brian Smyj
at the 2007 Taurus World Stunt Award's where he is nominated for Best
Specialty Stunt of the Year in Stunt Coordinator Pee Wee PiemonteÕs Unaccompanied Minors starring Wilmer Valderrama.
BrianÕs
partner in danger in this crash-and-burn universe is none other than the
beautiful and fearless, Stephanie Stokes. Her recent stunt credits include doubling actresses
Frances McDormand, Ann-Margret, and Patricia Velasquez and look for her
as Piper PeraboÕs double in the upcoming film, Carriers. Stephanie is also the first female to be sanctioned by any US State Athletic
Control Board as an announcer for Mixed Martial Arts & Boxing and is
in high demand as a pre & post fight Interviewer for the hottest Mixed
Martial Arts brands in the U.S. One of her proudest moments was singing the
National Anthem for 45,000 people at a NY Mets game at Shea
Stadium.
Together,
Brian and Stephanie run Never
Quit Stunts,
a company that engineers and fabricates patented equipment for the entertainment
& construction industries. They
have the most extensive stunt and rigging equipment available outside
of L.A. and a patent for a revolutionary construction guide called Construction Layout Tape, a paint by numbers system to reduce
measurement mistakes on the job.
A
day in the life of this stunt team is a walk on the edge disaster because
they do for a living what most people spend their lives trying to avoid. How does this married couple do it?
The tricks of the trade are all revealed in a new reality series
that they are developing with Executive Producer, Cat McGrath, called
StuntWorksTV. It is a behind the scenes look at the most dangerous job
in show business with the most dynamic stunt duo in New York, Mr. and
Mrs. Smyj.
Controlled
chaos is their recipe for success and they will share their secrets on
April 18, when Donny Deutsch asks them the
big questions on The Big Idea. |
